The Rector Presented at The IAEA The Master`s Degree Programme in Nuclear Security

Prof. Stattev presented the Master`s Degree Programme in Nuclear Security starting at our university in the next academic year. The Master`s Degree Programme is in the English language for Bulgarian and foreign students and it is elaborated in compliance with the INSEN and IAEA requirements. The National and Regional Security Department is leading for the education. 

In the presentation of the Master`s Degree Programme took part also Chief Assist. Dr. Georgy Penchev from the National and Regional Security Department and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Svetoslav Spasov, permanent representative of the Republic of Bulgaria to the UN Office, Organization for Security and Co-Operation in Europe (OSCE) and other international organizations. A brief presentation of the Programme, its structure and activities for development was made by Chief Assist. Dr. Penchev.

The Rector answered the questions and emphasized on the complicity and interdisciplinary orientation of the Programme as well as on the necessity of working out the Programme in cooperation with other universities from Bulgaria and abroad, the Bulgarian Academy of Science (BAS) and other state institutions. The Programme is available also for students from countries which would like to develop a nuclear energetics but having no such experience as Bulgaria in this field.
