XIII Table Tennis Tournament for the UNWE Cup

For the thirteenth time in Bonsist Sport Complex was held the Table Tennis Tournament for the Cup of UNWE organized by the Physical Education and Sports Department and "St. George the Victorious” Academic Sports Club.

The Rector Prof. Dr. Dimitar Dimitrov awarded the winners and emphasized "It is an honour and a great pleasure for me to award these cups to the winners. Thank you for the participation, emotions and efforts of all competitors. Despite the difficult situation we work and live in, you cope with the challenges successfully and proved in practice that the spirit makes power. Let's wish more sport victories and good moments".

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ivan Stoilov, Head of the Physical Education and Sports Department welcomed the participants in the Tournament: "Dear colleagues, I am very happy that despite the pandemic, we managed to keep alive the traditions of the Physical Education and Sports Department and to hold the Thirteenth consecutive Tournament in Table Tennis for lecturers and employees of UNWE. I would like to express my huge thankfulness to the Rectors leadership in the person of Prof. Dimitrov who made it possible to hold this Tournament. I would also like to thank to the Director of Bonsist Sport Complex Mr. Plamen Kyuvliev who provided the perfect conditions as well as to the major organizer and judge of the Tournament Sen. Lect. Dr. Elena Moneva”.

In the Tournament took part 17 participants divided into men /14/ and women /3/. The women were in one group and the men were divided into four groups. The matches were held in three different halls in order to observe the social distance between the players.

The winners in the groups were qualified for the main draw of complete elimination where they have to play to the semifinals and finals. The results were announced by Sen. Lect. Dr. Elena Moneva, judge of the Tournament. In addition to the cups and medals the participants were given T-shirts with the UNWE logo.
