Certificates for the Winners in the National Finance and Accountancy Competition and National Accountancy Contest

At the awarding ceremony attended the Rector Prof. D.Sc.(Econ.) Statty Stattev, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Milanka Slavova, Vice Rector for Education in EQD of Bachelor and Lifelong Learning and Chairwoman of the Association of Economic Schools in Bulgaria (AESB) as well as Assoc. Prof. Dr. Stela Raleva, Vice Rector for Education in EQD of Master and Distance Learning.

Prof. Dr. Daniela Feschiyan, Deputy Chairwoman of AESB and Deputy Head of the Accountancy and Analysis Department opened the ceremony and greeted the high school pupils for their successful results.

The 20^th National Accountancy Contest was held with the support of the United Editorial Office for Books and Periodicals “Thought”, Institute of Certified Public Accountants (ICPA) as well as with the assistance of the lecturers from the Accountancy and Analysis Department and under the patronage of AESB, pointed out Prof. Feschiyan. The National Finance and Accountancy Competition in which took part a record number of pupils – more than 500 – united the efforts of schools members of AESB and a number of foreign language high schools. For the first time the sponsor Coca Cola Hellenic took part in the search for talents, said Prof. Feschiyan and appealed to the future students to follow their dreams because “every person is as great as its dreams”.

The relation between the secondary and higher education, science and business is absolutely natural, declared Prof. Stattev. The UNWE is the largest university in Bulgaria where study more than 22 000 students as well as the largest university in the Southeastern Europe. You will be students at one of the most emblematic faculties of our university – the Finance and Accountancy Faculty which is part of the professional field of Economics. The fact itself that you have chosen to join our academic community means that you will successfully cope with the future challenges.

Mrs. Miroslava Markova, Human Resources Manager of Coca Cola Hellenic announced that the two best participants in the National Finance and Accountancy Competition – Zlatko Atanasov and Vladimira Doneva would be given scholarships of 1500 BGN and for the following 10 participants it had been provided paid internship at the company. She outlined that the excellent participants are brilliant future employees of Coca Cola Hellenic. The company offers flexible working hours that could be combined with the university lectures as well as opportunities for career growth not only in Bulgaria but also in all 28 member states of Coca Cola Hellenic, language training in the field of accountancy and finance, etc.

The competitions held by the AESB every year are a way for our pupils to obtain the right professional orientation. It is exceptionally important to choose the best university for your future development, said Mrs. Emilia Ivanova, Director of the National Trade and Banking High School and member of the AESB Coordination Council. She wished the high school-leavers successful graduation and good luck in their higher education.

The first winners in these competitions have already had a serious experience of over 15 years. Having in mind my personal experience I can tell you that there is a field for realization in Bulgaria.
