9th Table Tennis Tournament for Rector`s Cup

For the ninth time the Table Tennis Tournament for Rector`s Cup was held in Bonsist Sports Complex. It was organized by the Physical Education and Sports Department and the Academic Sports Club St. George the Victorious. 

This year for the first time the women competed apart of the men. In the Tournament participated six women who played in one group. The men were 24 combined in 6 groups of 4 people. Qualifications, eight-finals, quarter-finals, semi-finals and finals were held. 

The winners were announced by the referee of the Tournament Sen. Lect. Dr. Elena Moneva and the awards were given by the Assist. Rector Nikolay Bakardzhiev.  

The first place among men won Sen. Lect. Dr. Peter Ivanov. The second and third place were won relevantly by Dr. Zahary Tormanov and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Stiliyan Stefanov and the fourth place – by Georgy Dimitrov.

The winner among women was Zhulieta Vitova followed by Sen. Lect. Dr. Ralitsa Arsova. The third place won Violeta Ignatova and the fourth place – Prof. Violeta Mutafchieva.
