Foreign Students Day

For a fifth consecutive year the International Relations Student Association (IRSA) jointly with the Students Council and University Center for Students and Lecturers Mobility organized the Foreign Students Day at the university.

On behalf of the Rector of UNWE Prof. D.Sc.(Econ.) Statty Stattev a welcoming speech to the foreign students was delivered by the Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Valentin Goev. It is an opportunity for you to know about the education at our university and for us it is a chance to synchronize our level with your requirements. The education doesn`t have the beginning or end, it is for a lifetime, reminded Prof. Goev and specified that some students had chosen to educate at the UNWE and others had come through the Erasmus+ Programme. It is a ground for all of us to feel members of one huge community such as the European Union, said the Vice Rector.

The number of foreign students at the UNWE increases, the European vision of the university is due to you to a great extent, addressed to the students in Scientific Councils Hall Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ekaterina Tosheva, Director of the University Center for Students and Lecturers Mobility. I hope you will have successful education and unforgettable memories here, expressed her expectations the Director of the Center.

Denis Dimitrov, Chairman of the Students Council expressed his thankfulness to the IRSA for the organized event and wished the foreign colleagues successful stay at the UNWE.

According to the old Bulgarian tradition the guests were met with bread and salt by girls and boys wearing national costumes.

The foreign students had the opportunity to share their impressions from the education at our university and to tell about their experiences and meetings in Bulgaria. The first presentation was made by Valeria from Moldova who was speaking Bulgarian fluently. She outlined the advantages of education at the UNWE pointing out that you could obtain a European education at it.

Students from the UNWE showed a film about Bulgaria which impressed their foreign colleagues. Spyrydon Pafilis from Greece expressed the three most important advantages of UNWE: high level of education, opportunity for student presentations and wonderful material facilities.

Certificates for the highest results during the last semester were awarded to seven foreign students.

A Certificate of Appreciation in recognition for the implementation of the Foreign Students Day for a fifth consecutive year was awarded also to the UNWE Students Council.
