A New Stage in The Scientific Cooperation between The UNWE and RANEPA in The Field of Migrant Policy

Prof. Dr. Valentin Goev, Acting Vice Rector of UNWE met with D.Sc.(Soc.) Victoria Ledenyova, Director of the Center for Migrant Policy Studies at Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (RANEPA), Head of the newly established Department of Migrant Policy and Demographic Security. She was accompanied by Dr. Yanko Yanakiev, recent Head of the Office of Trade and Economic Affairs at Bulgarian Embassy in the Russian Federation.

At the meeting attended also Assoc. Prof. Dr. Galina Mladenova from the Marketing and Strategic Planning Department, Senior Lecturer Antonia Pencheva from the Foreign Languages and Applied Linguistics Department, Head of the Bulgarian-Russian Club at UNWE as well as Chief Assist. Dr. Ivaylo Ivanov from the Industrial Business Department, organizer of the meeting.

The opportunities of developing the cooperation at a qualitative new level to implement the Agreement between both institutions signed in 2009 were discussed. There was a conversation about the issues of conducting joint researches and implementing projects in the field of migrant policy, economic aspects of immigrant adaptation and integration, studies of conflicts originating by those processes and their impact on the sociology and conflicts science development at the contemporary stage. It was emphasized on the necessity of implementing some specific steps of intensifying the work in those fields.

During the meeting were also commented the opportunities provided by the Erasmus Plus Programme for exchange of lecturers, researchers and students from both universities.
