International Scientific Conference on The Bulgarian Membership in The European Union: Eight Years Later

The Bulgarian Membership in the European Union: Eight Years Later was the topic of the Forum organized by the International Economic Relations and Business Department at the university.  The 12th International Conference was devoted to the European Year for Development – 2015 and the 40th Jubilee Anniversary since the foundation of the International Economics and Politics Faculty.

It is an important day for the Faculty devoted to its Anniversary which we celebrate through the International Scientific Conference and an Official Assembly, outlined Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ivan Stoychev, Head of the International Economic Relations and Business Department.

On behalf of the Rector of UNWE Prof. D.Sc.(Econ.) Statty Stattev the participants in the Conference were greeted by Prof. Veselka Pavlova, Vice-Rector of the university. She emphasized on the topical issues, interdisciplinary reports and the expected significant results. The International Economic Relations and Business Department has always been active in the educational and scientific activity with lots of researching potential, outlined Prof. Pavlova.

Prof. D.Sc.(Econ.) Georgy Genov, Dean of the International Economics and Politics Faculty expressed his confidence in the fruitful work of the Conference and the importance of results which would find application in the researchings and scientific literature.

In the Conference took part scientists and specialists from the UNWE, St. Climent Ohridski University of Sofia, Angel Kanchev University of Rousse, Prof. Dr. Asen Zlatarov University of Bourgas, University of Agribusiness and Rural Development – Plovdiv as well as from the National Assembly, the Institute of Tourist Analyses and Assessments, universities in Germany, Macedonia, Turkey, Poland, Albania, etc.

Students also took part in the Forum.

The work of the Forum was organized in two panels entitled: The European Priorities and Development: the Role of Bulgaria / Problems of the Bulgarian Business Development in the Global World.

Prof. D.Sc.(Econ.) Bistra Boeva delivered the main plenary report on the European Topics: Traditions, Sustainability and Perspectives (the European Topics in the Researchings of the International Economic Relations and Business Department). She emphasized on the sustainability and perspectives of the European topics evaluating them through the philosophy of science, examined the theory of competitive advances, new phenomena, etc.
