Prof. D.Sc.(Econ.) Statty Stattev Met with The Director of Jean Monnet EU Programme

The Rector of UNWE Prof. D.Sc.(Econ.) Statty Stattev met with Eleftherios Thalassinos, Head of the Maritime Studies Department of the University of Piraeus. The Greek Professor is  a Director of Jean Monnet EU Programme as well as a founder and Editor-in-Chief of three scientific magazines - International Journal of Economics and Business Administration, European Research Studies and International Journal of Maritime, Trade& Economic Issues. During the meeting in Rector`s office attended Assoc. Prof. Dr. Emil Harsev from the Finance Department and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Silvia Trifonova, Chairwoman of the General Assembly of Finance and Accountancy Faculty at UNWE.

Prof. Stattev presented to the Greek guest the European dimensions of education at the largest Bulgarian university and the opportunities for professional and career development provided by the UNWE as a leader among the universities in the country.

The Rector awarded to the Greek guest the Commemorative Medal of Prof. Stephan Bobchev – Founder and First Rector of UNWE.

The Rector and Prof.Thalassinos discussed the opportunities for a future constructive cooperation between the UNWE and the University of Piraeus which prepares specialists in the field of economics, business management and information technologies.

There were also discussed the conditions of signing a contract of mobility on the Erasmus Programme as well as a common framework agreement of cooperation between both universities. Prof. Stattev and Prof.Thalassinos also talked about the opportunities for mutual exchange of lecturers and researchers as well as the joint participation in European projects.

There was also a conversation about the exchange of scientific articles between the magazines issued by the UNWE and the University of Piraeus. It was emphasized on the participation of scientific periodicals of both universities in rankings having an impact factor – an important index in the scientific area.
