Second Alumni of Masters of Science Obtained Diplomas from UNWE and Nottingham Trent University

The second alumni of Masters of Science from the Joint Programme European Business and Finance obtained Bulgarian and English diplomas from the UNWE and Nottingham Trent University. The sixteen graduates were greeted by the Rector of UNWE Prof. D.Sc. (Econ.) Statty Stattev, Assoc. Prof. Emil Helienek, Head of the Joint Masters Programme from the Nottingham Trent University and Prof. Dr. Veselka Pavlova, Vice-Rector on Education in the Educational Qualification Degree of Master and Distance Learning who bestowed the diplomas.

We prepare an agreement for larger exchange between both universities and from the next year begins a New Joint Masters Programme – International Business and Management, announced Prof. D.Sc. (Econ.) Statty Stattev. Particularly strong is the feeling when is implemented an act which has seemed unreal until five years ago, remarked the Rector. The Joint Masters Programme obtained accreditation in the United Kingdom and Bulgaria and the education began in January 2008. The diploma of graduates from the Programme is from both universities – UNWE and Nottingham Trent University, UK and it is signed by both Rectors, said Prof. Stattev. “All that is achieved is really a reason of being proud”, outlined the Rector.

People graduated the Programme find realization extremely successful and more than half of them begin working at very high positions in Bulgaria, remarked Prof. Stattev. The level is very high and it puts under an obligation, added the Rector. He also pointed out that on the part of Bulgaria the Programme was “protected” by the best university in the country – UNWE which recently obtained its second consecutive highest accreditation assessment becoming again a leader in Bulgarian higher education. And Nottingham Trent University is one of the first higher business schools in the UK so “the common level of the diploma from both universities becomes quadruple”, said the Rector. 

The ceremony on handing of diplomas was lively broadcasted by one of the TV channels.

You should celebrate and know that each progress depends on you, greeted the Masters of Science also Assoc. Prof. Emil Helienek. During their education students had the unique opportunity to touch the various academic environment, culture and languages, outlined Assoc. Prof. Helienek. Education in the Joint Masters Programme on European Business and Finance between the UNWE and Nottingham Trent University is equal to the education for Master`s degree in the UK. Graduates from the Programme can work as professionals and experts in the field of national and international business, national and global financial system, at the corporate companies, financial and non – financial institutions, international financial organizations, multinational corporations, bodies of central and local administration, etc.

It`s an honour and privilege for all of us to hold our diplomas of Master of Science, said the best graduated girl Lili Ivanova who greeted the lecturers on behalf of the alumni. She also received a special diploma from the Rector Prof. D.Sc. (Econ.) Statty Stattev.

At the moment 21 Bulgarian students are educated at the Nottingham Business School to the Nottingham Trent University. In September 2012 at the Nottingham began its education the fifth alumni of Bulgarian students. Another 27 students from the sixth alumni of the Programme soon will complete its first semester at the UNWE. More of the Masters of Science who obtained their diplomas have already found a reliable job. Graduated from the Programme European Business and Finance  are wanted as professionals and experts in the field of national and international business, at the corporate companies, finance and non-finance institutions, bodies of central and local administration.
