The Association and the UNWE join their forces to raise the student awareness of responsible alcohol consumption and to encourage responsible and reasonable behaviour.

The measurement of the amount of pure alcohol (ethanol) in a drink, the finding of alcohol units in the body after consumption of different types of alcohol, and how long it takes for this alcohol to break down provoked great interest among the students.

Last year the Competition for Digital Campaign on Responsible Drinking of Alcohol was won by the student whose project included a digital calculator with a QR code based on a formula to measure alcohol units and the time it takes to break down before you decide to drive.

The organizers also announced the start of the curent edition of students creative competition for digital advertising campaign on responsible drinking of alcohol by young adults entitled When and How Much?. The competition is open to students currently studying at UNWE, either individually or in groups. It is recommended that teams consist of four members, combining all their knowledge and skills to come up with a final product that would be comparable to that of a real advertising agency.

Projects must be submitted with an application form that includes the participant's name, speciality, course, faculty number, project name, a brief description of the project, a list of all materials submitted, submission date, email, and a phone number for feedback.

In addition to students from the UNWE, the competition will also include students currently studying at New Bulgarian University and the National Academy of Art.

The proposal for a digital campaign on responsible drinking of alcohol for young adults should include: a name for the project, a slogan, a text explaining the concept and the motivation for its creation, a proposal for media dissemination and the presentation of a digital product which could consist of a comic, a game, a quiz, a video, an animation, a calculator, a mobile app, or any other visual message that can influence the audience to become more aware of responsible drinking.

The jury for the projects review will consist of lecturers from the three universities as well as a representative of the Spirits Bulgaria Association.

A ceremony for the public announcement of the awards will be held in May 2024 at the UNWE.

Coordinator from the UNWE in relation to the organization and conduction of the Competition is Chief Assist. Dr. Borislava Stoimenova from the Marketing and Strategic Planning Department and students who intend to participate in the Competition could contact her for clarification and consultancy assistance.

"The objective of the Competition is to encourage young people not only to create an interesting marketing product but also to consume alcohol in a responsible way within the boundaries of good social behaviour and mood. The objective is that by participating in the competition, students will change their attitudes towards alcohol consumption and influence their peers to think about their own consumption", said Gergana Gevezova, Secretary General of the Association.
