The UNWE Finance and Accountancy Faculty Took Part in a Charity Initiative for Children with Cerebral Palsy

Members of the academic staff of the UNWE Finance and Accountancy Faculty donated part of the sum and some of them donated the full amount of the sum they have received at Faculty level as additional material stimulation of their publication activity for 2022 to St. Sofia Specialized Rehabilitation Hospital for Children with Cerebral Palsy in support to the charitable cause of the Rector of UNWE, announced the Dean of the Faculty Prof. Dr. Rumen Brusarsky.  The sum raised amounts to 3704,00 BGN.

The Director of St. Sofia Hospital Assoc. Prof. Ivan Chavdarov expressed his heartfelt gratitude and explained that the donation will add the necessary amount for the purchase of a complete biofeedback analysis system which due to the innovative technologies and a patented analytical approach allows an objective assessment of the patient's condition.

In November 2023 at the initiative of UNWE's Rector Prof. Dr. Dimitar Dimitrov 10 500 BGN were collected for the purchase of a robot for hand movement to help children with cerebral palsy.


St. Sofia Hospital is the first specialized hospital for children with cerebral palsy and it is designed to serve children from 0 to 24 years old. In the last ten years high-tech and robotic rehabilitation has been implemented setting a new standard in the care of children with cerebral palsy.
