The Rector of UNWE Signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with DevHunOne Foundation and the Game Cluster Bulgaria Association

The Memorandum of Cooperation was signed by the Rector of UNWE Prof. Dr. Dimitar Dimitrov and DevHubOne Foundation represented by Vasil Anastasov and Game Cluster Bulgaria represented by Zheko Stefanov.

The event was attended by Assoc.Prof. Dr. Noncho Dimitrov, Vice Dean for Quality and International Cooperation of the Faculty of Economics of Infrastructure and Scientific Secretary of the Department of National and Regional Security who will be the Coordinator of the Memorandum and Prof. Dr. Tsvetana Stoyanova, Vice-Rector for Institutional and Business Cooperation and Student Policies.

"Learning through games is extremely useful, computer games are not only fun but could also be part of the learning process for acquiring valuable knowledge and skills", said Prof. Dr. Dimitar Dimitrov, presenting to his new partners the university's traditions in this regard as well as the intention to create a specialized hall in Student City for playing and learning at the same time, similar to the one created by DevHubOne in Business Park Sofia.

"After a serious survey we found that 60-70% of students do not have a computer at home or have one for the whole family. That's why we decided to create a place where students can use the equipment for free, develop their own ideas, create video games or listen to free courses on programming, web design, art, 3D modeling", explained Vasil Anastasov who is a teacher at 51. Elizaveta Bagryana High School and founder of DevHubOne Foundation.

"Game Cluster Bulgaria is a mediator between the state administration and the foreign investors", explained Zheko Stefanov. "One of the things we could be useful in this cooperation is the platform developed with the help of artificial intelligence which connects the employers with the job candidates."

The agreement includes joint projects and their subsequent implementation, presentations to students, lectures, organization of seminars and conferences, internships for the UNWE students.

Vasil Anastasov and Zheko Stefanov attended also the Rector's lecture to first-year students of the specialty Economics of Defence and Security. They shared with the audience the ideas that could be implemented in cooperation with the University and how the students could get involved in them. It became clear that the new collaboration is also in support of student entrepreneurship.
