The Rector Signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the French-Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry

On the eve of the National Day of France and the Day of the European Revolutions - 14 July, the Rector Prof. Dr. Dimitar Dimitrov and Mr. Stephane Delahaye, Chairman of the Management Board of the French-Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, signed a Memorandum of Cooperation. During the official ceremony on signing the memorandum they discussed the joint initiatives expressing their readiness for future fruitful cooperation between the two institutions.

The Rector Prof. Dr. Dimitar Dimitrov presented the objectives set by the UNWE and emphasized on the strong relation with the business, the agreements with various large companies such as Kaufland, Vivacom, Coca Cola, etc. He outlined that "we have signed numerous memoranda of cooperation with leading companies and employers' organizations, including the German-Bulgarian Chamber of Industry and Commerce, the American Chamber of Commerce in Bulgaria as well as the Confederation of the Industrial Capital of Bulgaria". He emphasized on the serious attention paid to the digitalization and added that the UNWE is also a member of the National Competence Centre within EuroHPC JU Phase 2. The EuroCC2 project objective is to develop in the most efficient way a network of National Competence Centers within all European countries in the field of HPC+ and Artificial Intelligence technologies. The ambitious project objective at European level is to build a capacity of technologies and competences to be made available as up-to-date services to support business, public administration and academic circles. The Rector Prof. Dimitar Dimitrov explained about the international relations that UNWE maintains, about the dual programmes with universities from all over the world.

The Rector Prof. Dimitar Dimitrov presented the holders of the Honorary Title of Doctor Honoris Causa of UNWE and especially Jean-Claude Trichet, a long-time employee of the French Ministry of Finance, who has also headed the European Central Bank. He showed their portraits exposed in the Academic Hall of UNWE.

The Chairman of the Chamber Mr. Stephane Delahaye presented the French-Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and pointed out that as an organization represented by him the Chamber encourages the bilateral relations between the two countries and the cooperation with one of the largest business universities is very important. He said that the Chamber would will actively assist in organizing joint events, meetings and lectures between the students and representatives of the French business.

Mrs. Vesela Todorova-Mozettig, Director of the French-Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and graduate of the UNWE, who was awarded the rank of Chevalier of the National Order of Legion of Honour of the Republic of France by decree of the President of the Republic Emmanuel Macron, shared her impression by the changes that have taken place at the University. She presented the activities of the Chamber and noted that the organization unites more than 200 French, Bulgarian and international companies.

The Memorandum of Cooperation provides for the participation of students in public initiatives, internships, organization of lectures by representatives of both institutions, etc.

The French-Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry is a non-profit organization that unites 240 French, Bulgarian and international companies. The Chamber is an expression of the will of Bulgarian and French entrepreneurs to join forces in order to encourage and develop the bilateral economic and trade relations between the two countries.

It represents the French business in Bulgaria and promotes the bilateral relations between the two countries, supports the Bulgarian companies willing to export to France, offers a full range of services for the companies interested in developing the Bulgarian or French market.
