Fifth International Scientific Conference on Social Sciences NORDSCI

For the fifth consecutive year the NORDSCI International Social Science Conference was held in a hybrid format, providing the participants from different countries the opportunity to take part in the scientific discussions and workshop sessions. It was organized with the assistance of the UNWE as host and it was opened in the Large Conference Hall.

The Rector of the UNWE Prof. Dr. Dimitar Dimitrov wished successful work to the participants pointing out that the Conference is an event of high priority for the University so that is why the Vice-Rector for Research and International Affairs Prof. Dr. Mihail Musov and the Secretary General for International Cooperation Prof. Dr. Yanko Hristozov attended the event in-person. He paid attention to the processes started in recent years to strengthen the involvement of academic staff in research and pointed out that our University is a very suitable venue for the Conference as it has Departments and scientific capacity in all thematic areas of the Forum.

Prof. Dimitrov presented the UNWE as the eldest, the most prestigious and the largest business university in Bulgaria and Southeast Europe having 8 Faculties and 34 Departments, 500 full-time lecturers and 300 guest-lecturers. He outlined that the UNWE is known for its huge number of graduates occupying high positions in the state and that among our lecturers there are personalities such as the Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Kristalina Georgieva. "We have enormous potential and I hope that our long-standing cooperation and partnership with NORDSCI will continue to develop successfully in the future", said the Rector in conclusion.

The Conference was focused on the new normality after the pandemic crisis - consequences, impacts and predictions. It lasted for three days and brought together scientists and researchers from six scientific fields - Business and Management / Economics and Tourism / Political Science and Law / Sociology and Health / Education, Linguistics and Language Studies. The Forum was attended by scientists from all over the world - from universities in Bulgaria, Poland, the Czechoslovak Republic, Portugal, Kosovo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia, India, Russia, etc.
