An Open Doors Day for Students of The Speciality Economics of Tourism

Speciality Economics of Tourism conducted an Open Doors Day at the Ruby Conference Hall of the Dedeman Princess Sofia Hotel by the participation of Heads of the main hotel units, the academic body of the Economics of Tourism Department and 152 students in their third and fourth year of education. The purpose was students to listen some interesting presentations, to meet with managers of the company and to get acquainted with the work process at the hotel.

The meeting was opened by Vijdan Yuzeirova, the Human Resources Manager and Boyko Manev, Deputy Executive Director of the hotel. They greeted the students and presented them the opportunities for academic practice and internship before graduation.

Prof. Dr. Dimitar Tadarakov, Head of  the Economics of Tourism Department emphasized on the importance of practical training and gave as a present to the Managing body of the hotel both registers of the graduating students, the alumni of 2011 and 2012 containing a lot of information and designed for potential employers.

Students asked a lot of questions to the hosts, expressed their opinions and learnt about the opportunities for future professional realization after their graduation. Some of them declared the desire to carry out their academic practice and internship before graduation at the various units of the hotel - Marketing and Sales, Front Office, Hotel Stewardship, Foods and Drinks, Human Resources.
