ENGAGE.EU: International Staff Days 2021

The International Staff Days of the partner universities took place on 25 and 26 November 2021 as part of the ENGAGE.EU project. The online event was organized by the Université Toulouse 1 Capitole /UT1/ and the event itself was planned and carried out as part of the activities under Task 2.13 "Green Mobility".

The meeting was opened by the Rector of the French University UT1 Prof. Hugues Kenfack. He emphasized on the role of the EC's European Universities initiative and its long-term objective: to create transnational alliances that would be prototypes of "universities of the future" in Europe, implementing an innovative model of cooperation within the European Educational Area, promoting the common values and identity and contributing to the competitiveness of European higher education.

The meeting was also welcomed by the project manager of the University of Mannheim Prof. Dirk Simons who pointed out that the European Universities initiative should create the future “Airbuses in the Higher Education”. He told the participants in the meeting about the initiatives taken jointly by all 41 alliances including also our alliance ENGAGE.EU. These initiatives have set ambitious objectives but above all they raise the cooperation between the participating universities beyond the currently known models, outlined Prof. Simons.

In the ”green” event, held online saving carbon emissions, financial resources and travel time for the participants, by the UNWE party took part Mrs. Gergana Kirilova, Director of Rector's Office Directorate, Mrs. Desislava Paunska, Head of the Public Relations and Marketing Division, Mrs. Margarita Lyubomirova, Chief Expert in Protocol Sector, Dr. Rositsa Velinova from the Center for Research and Educational Projects, Mrs. Victoria Stoyanova, Head of the University Website Management Sector, Mrs. Marusya Dimova, Chief Expert in Marketing Sector.

With presentations in the event took also part Assoc. Prof. Svetla Boneva, Secretary General for Research Projects and Chief Assist. Dr. Ivan Valchanov who is responsible for the communication activities under the project. Assoc. Prof. Boneva summarized both the progress in the work and the challenges related to the creation of a common catalog of courses. She highlighted the active contribution to the project activities by the project team from the UNWE which is led by Assoc. Prof. Mihail Musov and currently numbers over 40 people. Dr. Valchanov presented the main activities under task 5.5 "Communication and Dissemination" as well as the ways to disseminate the achievements and opportunities in the project through the website and its social media profiles.
