On the Occasion of Its 30th Anniversary the Student Council Planted 30 New Trees in Students Park

The Student Council jointly with the Eco Club at UNWE held its first for the academic year 2021/2022 an ecologic initiative on the territory of Student City. On the occasion of the 30th Anniversary of their organization the students planted 30 trees in Students Park.

To support the enthusiasm of students at the event attended Prof. Dr. Tsvetana Stoyanova, Vice Rector for Institutional and Business Cooperation and Student Policies, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dragomir Stefanov, Secretary General for Social and Living Issues of Undergraduates and Foreign Students, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ivaylo Beev, Head of the Economics Department and Mr. Daniel Parushev, Chairman of the National Representation of Student Councils.

The Chairman of the Student Council Angel Stoykov greeted the students for the strong start of the new academic year through the first initiative of the Student Council on the occasion of its 30th Anniversary. He outlined that it is the eldest student organization in Bulgaria which actively works for the benefit of students at the UNWE.

In her welcoming speech Prof. Stoyanova greeted the students for the largest eco-initiative organized so far and added that the growth of trees would become a symbol of the student community development.

Assoc. Prof. Dragomir Stefanov and Mr. Parushev also greeted the participants in the initiative.

As a sign of their 30th Anniversary the students had chosen 30 plane trees which they planted in the park opposite the UNWE. The representatives of the student community used their creativity and made a flash mob depicting the Anniversary.

After supporting the afforestation of Students Park the participants in the intitative divided into groups and cleaned the wastes from the green areas, playgrounds and alleys around the UNWE student blocks.

More than 50 students joined the initiative collecting 121 bags of wastes which will definitely make the Student City a cleaner and more pleasant place to live.
