In his lecture to students in Bachelor`s, Master`s and Doctoral degree at the National and Regional Security Department and the Economics of Transport and Energy Department of UNWE the diplomat focused on the process of energy transformation from coal-fired generating capacity to a new generation of nuclear power, including micro, small and medium modular reactors.

According to Mr. Sullivan there are currently interesting opportunities for further development of wind, solar and hydro resources in the region's electricity system, with some support from battery storage. According to him further regional interconnection should be sought as seen in the successful Greece-Bulgaria interconnector project.

After the public lecture Mr. Sullivan answered questions from the students regarding the transition process and its economic implications.
