Health Insurance
Foreign students studying in regular form of education under the rules of:
- the inter-governmental agreements for educational, scientific and cultural exchange;
- the Ministers Council Regulations (Decree № 103/1993 and Decree № 228/1997);
- as well as students having PIN,
are health insured by the UNWE till they turn the age of 26 years /if they don`t work/.
The other foreign students are not health insured by the UNWE.
Documents:
- Health Declaration;
- Registration Card – only for newly admitted students;
- A copy of the Identification Document.
At enrollment for the first year of education as well as for each next one you should fill in a Health Declaration.
When you have already obtained an Identification Document from the Ministry of Interior – Sofia you should reregister at the National Revenue Agency where you should submit the Registration Document and assurance. If you don`t do it your health insurance will be interrupted and the UNWE will not be responsible for that. The health insurance can be also interrupted if you have registered at the National Revenue Agency but you haven`t fill in an application for updating / correcting personal information at the Foreign Students and European Appendices to Diplomas Sector of UNWE.
When you have already obtained a statute of permanent resident in the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria or Bulgarian citizenship you should reregister again at the national Revenue Agency and fill in an application for updating / correcting personal information at the Foreign Students and European Appendices to Diplomas Sector of UNWE. If you don`t do it your health insurance will be again interrupted.
All health insured persons in Bulgaria should choose a personal doctor who they visit if it is necessary. For the purpose you should go at the Students Polyclinic – Students Town, №8 Arso Pandurski Str. (look at a map).
