September 16th 2025 – beginning of the academic year 2024/2025
The enrollment for the first semester is from September, 15th, 2024 till October, 24th, 2025 at the office of International Students Division of UNWE.

Documents for applicants admitted under the rules in Decree № 103/1993 and Decree № 228/1997 of the Ministers Council:
- A certificate issued by the Ministry of Education and Science – receivd fromthe online application platform at the Ministry of Education and Science;
- application documents submitted to the Ministry of Education and Science:
- An original and notarized copy of the Diploma for completed higher education;
- An original and notarized copy of the Appendix to the Diploma for higher education and an original and notarized copy of the European Appendix to the Diploma (if the student has such Appendix);
- A notarized copy of the Certificate of Birth;
- A copy of the Diploma for completed secondary education and an original for verification;
- Two photos (3.5х4.5см.);
- A document for a fee paid - for the ones adopted by the order of Decree № 228/1997 of the Ministers Council;
- Students enrolled in full-time studies are issued an electronic student book (plastics). A fee is BGN 10.
The notarized copy of the Diploma for higher education and the Appendix to it except the European Diploma Supplement must be legalized, translated into Bulgarian and certified in compliance with the regulations of international agreements of the Republic of Bulgaria with the state where the documents are issued from and if such regulations lack – under the general rules for legalizations, translations and certifications of documents and other kinds of papers.
The enrollment of students admitted by the Ministry of Education and Science to study in the Educational Qualification Degree of Master after completed Bachelor`s degree (at the foreign universities) under the rules in Art.4, Para1 of Decree № 103/1993 of the Ministers Council can be done after completed procedure of recognition of the higher education degree acquired abroad. It is necessary to fill in an Application Form (download).
The procedure includes:
- Verification of the statute of the educational institutions issued the Diplomas for completed higher education;
- Verification of the authenticity of the Diplomas for higher education;
The verification is cerried out by the National Center for Information and Documentation to the Ministry of Education and Science.
After a response from the National Center for Information and Documentation has been obtained, the documents meeting the requirements should be considered by the UNWE Commission of recognition of acquired higher education and completed periods of studying at the foreign universities.
The Rerctor decides on the recognition of the relevant degree of higher education acquired aboard for the purpose of continuing education at UNWE, based on a report from the UNWE Commission on recognition of acquired higher education and completed periods of studying at the foreign universities.
The implementation of the procedure on recognition of acquired higher education at the foreign university takes at least one moth which means students should arrive in Bulgaria and submit their documents no later than two weeks after the beginning of the academic year.
Documents for applicants admitted under the rules in Art.95, Para 8 and Para 10 of the Higher Education Act (at their own expense):
- Students enrolled in full-time studies are issued an electronic student book (plastics). A fee is BGN 10;
- A document for a fee paid;
- Two photos (3.5х4.5см.);
- A copy of the Diploma for completed secondary education and an original for verification.

In the shortest possible term you should apply for residence permit or Bulgarian ID card at the Sofia Directorate of Interior – №48 Maria Luiza Blvd., phone: 02/ 982 33 16 (link). After the obtaining of Identification Document you fill out an application for updating / correcting personal data at the International Students Division office.
