Day 5 of the Week of the Book Was Focused on the Historical Interpretation and Digital Transformation

The Historical Hitchhiker's Guide by Prof. D.Sc. Pencho Penchev was the first book presented on the Day 5 of the Week of the Book. "This book is a significant step in the attempt to overcome misinterpretations in Bulgarian history. All the processes and events described in it are known, the new is seen in the interpretation and in the conclusions", said Assoc. Prof. Dr. Marko Dimitrov from the Political Economy Department who presented the book.

"The book presents to great extent what our university is. In book has political economy, history, essays. It presents my conversations with colleagues, moments of intellectual interaction with most of the people who are here. The intellectual environment that exists at the University has helped to write these books", said Prof. D.Sc. Pencho Penchev.

"The Historical Hitchhiker's Guide is a continuation and addition to the essay collection Past Unfinished. Missed Lessons of Bulgarian History". The book is an invitation to a conversation that aims to help everyone reach an answer to the question of the meaning of historical knowledge”, is said in the book's annotation. It is a rigorous selection of scholarly material, presented in language that is accessible to people who are not necessarily professional historians.

"The main theme is related to what is the importance of digitalization in terms of collecting big data from everything and everywhere. My first monograph was on the Internet of Objects, which was rumored to happen, today there is a working Internet of Objects where we get information from and that's why the title of this book is about the digital world and change. In it, I look at how the whole Earth, and all the activities around us are being digitized. And it's an important question - as everything becomes digital, where do we, as humans, stay?", shared to the audience Prof. Boyanov.

The book is about the ways in which digital transformation is taking place, in which everything is gradually being digitized. It looks at the scope of this transformation and one of its most important aspects and consequences - the creation of big data on a global scale. The dynamics and directions of their development, their relevance to all areas of people's lives and the beginnings of the big data generation process are examined.

"Mailbox for Fairy Tales Publishing House was founded 13 years ago by Gery Turiiska and has initiated a number of people to submit creative texts, which are selected and presented to an audience by artists.
