CURRICULUM |
Economics of Natural Resources Department offers and carries out education for two semesters in Master's degree program in Business and Environmental Sustainability for graduates of Bachelor's degree in professional fields of Economics and Administration and Management.
Educational Objectives
The curriculum of the Master's degree program acknowledges the need for specialists and experts to work in the field of strategic and operational management of natural resources and environmental conservation. The aim of the study is to provide in-depth specialized preparation for masters. The content of the course is directed towards achieving the following main objectives:
- Assimilation and application of theoretical knowledge, concepts, principles, approaches and strategies for greening, sustainability, development of green economy and business, the transition from a linear economy model to a circular one, etc.;
- Acquiring knowledge and skills for implementing green business, for revealing, analyzing and diagnosing problems and conflicts in organizations, eco-innovations and digitalization, assessing the environmental impacts from the implementation of various projects and strategic documents;
- Acquisition of competences for developing options for solutions to problematic situations in business and regions and introducing appropriate innovative approaches and business models for sustainable development;
- Acquiring of specific communication and presentation skills, and competences for collecting, processing and interpreting specialized information necessary for solving complex problems of management of the use and protection of natural resources.
The study content of the Master's degree program is designed to provide in-depth and specialized training for masters. Thematically, it includes knowledge of environmental economics, business models for sustainable development, ecomonitoring and assessment of ecosystem services, environmental policy instruments, sustainability and environmental conflicts, startup economy, climate change and the adaptation to them, eco-innovations and digitalization, methods for business decisions in the green economy, etc.

Graduates of Master`s degree program in Business and Environmental Sustainability have employability options as managers and experts in environmental infrastructure management at different levels in the public sector, specialists in public-private partnership in the use of natural resources, managers and consultants on assessment and management of environmental projects, appraisers of agricultural lands and biological funds in consulting and other companies, environmental assessment experts, specialists in environmental issues in various business organizations, experts on corporate social responsibility issues in various business organizations, experts in the Ministry of Environment and Water and the Ministry of Agriculture and Food, etc., experts on environmental issues in non-governmental, branch and other organizations and unions., researchers and teachers in research institutes and universities.
