Official Start of the Renovation of the UNWE Library
An official start was given for the complete renovation of the UNWE Library in the presence of the university Managing body, the designers, the builders and the company that will furnish it. On 21 December 2022 by Decision of the Council of Ministers BGN 1,940,000 were allocated for the modernization of the Library. It is provisioned to replace the existing space with a modern information and knowledge center providing modern services for all students and lecturers.

Let`s greet ourselves with the symbolic "first sod" of the renovation of the University Library - something that was achieved by the joint efforts of the Vice-Rector for Institutional and Business Cooperation and Student Policies Prof. Dr. Tsvetana Stoyanova, the Vice-Rector for Research and International Affairs Assoc. Dr. Mihail Musov, the Assistant Rector Prof. D.Sc. /Econ./ Kiril Stoychev who is responsible for the implementation of the activities, and all colleagues from the Library as well as Assoc. Prof. Dr. Petar Chobanov, lecturer at the Finance Department, Member of Parliament, former Minister of Finance. We are grateful to the designers who after many discussions made this modern project, here is also the builder who will implement the good ideas as well as the company Office 1 which will support furnishing the space", said the Rector of UNWE Prof. Dr. Dimitar Dimitrov.
The Minister of Finance Rositsa Velkova was prevented from coming but Prof. Dimitrov outlined her special merits for receiving the subsidy.
Arch. Miroslav Krastev, manager of Odaya Architects Ltd., had provided the architectural project with three-dimensional visualization of the premises /reading rooms, borrowing room, open spaces/ as well as a project for the renovation of the electrical installation, heating, ventilation and air conditioning.
Today a contract was also signed with the construction company BILD ENGINEERING V.V.R. Ltd. for the construction and installation activities for term of 3 months and the new space should be opened in the autumn. The solemn opening of the start of the renovation was attended by the owners of BILD ENGINEERING V.V.R. Ltd. Radoslav Rangelov and Vladimir Lazov, who is also the manager of the company. Elka Kamenova from Office 1 - the company that will provide the new furniture, was also invited to the event.
"After the modernization the library space will become a center of attraction for both students and lecturers, a place not only for reading but also for holding group classes, open lessons, discussions, book premiers and other events that will support the learning process", said Prof. Dr. Dimitar Dimitrov.
