Short description

The object of the scientific-research project “New forms of political participation in Bulgarian society” is to examine the motivations and the socio-cultural environment of the new political mobilizations in Bulgarian society. In that relation
it will identify the social and moral characteristics of the persons participating in the new mobilizations. The elaboration of a model of the new political participation is one of the important objectives of the project

Expected results description including publications
|
- Creating a theoretical model describing the forms of political participation in the contemporary Bulgarian society and the place of the new political mobilizations
- Creating a system of criteria for assessment of the institutional support for the democracy in the modern Bulgarian society
- Creating a system of criteria for assessment of the civil patriotism in Bulgarian society
- Creating a theoretical model of the civil capital in Bulgarian society
- Publication of a wide monograph on the topic of the project including English translation

First stage:
Duration period of the planned activities (months) – 18
- Elaboration of theoretical model for the described factors of the political participation and its motivation
- Creation of opportunities for scientific and career development of young Bulgarian scientists in the field of the politics
- Creation of a system of indicators about the citizens’ attitudes towards politics and democracy
- Creation of a theoretical model for description of the factors of the political participation and its motivation
- Elaboration of a considerable amount information by the empiric data, describing the citizens’ attitudes towards politics and democracy
- Conducting of analysis of the stereotypes regarding the politics, the politics, parties, institutions, civil participation
The financial resources, necessary for the project are provided by the National Science Fund - 55 000 BGN
Second stage:
Duration period of the planned activities (months) – 18
- Announcement of the first results, probation of the conclusions and deductions, collection of critical assessments and opinions – basis for the preparation of the texts for the concluding monograph
- Creation of opportunities for a scientific and career advancement of young Bulgarian scientists in political fields
- Publication of the research results, creation of conditions for further academic activity in this field
- Stimulate prolonged researches for the changes in the civil participation in Bulgaria
The financial resources, necessary for the project will be provided by the National Science Fund - 13 753 BGN
