New Academic Complex

The UNWE puts into exploitation its New Academic Complex in 2021. The building is a new generation of construction. It closely approximates to the low-energy or nearly zero-energy buildings such as e.g. passive house regarding its energy efficiency.  A solar system provides hot water supply and a modern air conditioning system allows to maintain a different temperature in each hall.

The project is funded on the Operational Programme Regions in Growth 2014 – 2020, project title Design and Construction /Engineering/ of New Academic Complex of the University of National and World Economy in Sofia, budget line BG16RFOP001-3.003 - Support for the Universities in the Republic of Bulgaria as well as with earmarked funds allocated by the Bulgarian Ministry of Finance.

UNWE New Academic Complex has 4 floors with 2 300 sq.km. useful floor space and more than 8 500 sq.km. developed area.

The building has at disposal 4 academic aulas with 250 seats each. Every floor has 3 academic halls relevantly with 120, 80 and 40 seats as well as 19 academic offices for lecturers and two test centers each of them equipped with computers for 250 people. All academic halls are modern with completely developed technological infrastructure.

The New Complex provides accessible environment for people with disabilities including parking spaces.

The construction of the building began in 2017 and Act 16 was issued in April 2021.
