Euroatom Information Day

The Rector of UNWE Prof. D.Sc.(Econ.) Statty Stattev opened the Forum and greeted the participants in the Information Day. He spoke to them about the university educational activity in the field of nuclear security and about the International Master`s Degree Programme in Nuclear Security which was organized for a second consecutive year by the UNWE  jointly with the International Atomic Energy Agency – Vienna and there is a serious international interest to it.

The Euroatom Information Day is concerned to the European Atomic Energy Community (EAEC or Euroatom) Research and Training Programme (2014-2018) in addition to the EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation Horizon 2020. The major report was delivered by Mr. Roberto Passalacqua, representative of the European Commission, Directorate-General for Research and Innovation. He spoke to the presents about the opportunities for Euroatom research.  

Representatives of more than ten organizations and institutions took part in the discussion. A greeting speech was delivered by Zlatina Karova, Director of the Science Directorate to the Ministry of Education and Science. Among the participants were: Assoc. Prof. Maria Manolova, Deputy Director of the Institute of Nuclear Research and Nuclear Energy to the BAS, Prof. Dr. Kiril Stoychev from Acad. A. Balevski Institute of Metal Science, Equipment, and Technologies - Center for Hydro and Aerodynamics to the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences - (IMSETHC-BAS), Maria Krasteva from the Nuclear Regulatory Agency, Lyubomir Pironkov, Head of the Personnel and Training Center Division at Kozloduy Nuclear Power Plant, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Daniela Ilieva-Koleva, Director-Executive of Law and Internet Foundation, lecturers and Doctoral students from the UNWE, Technical University of Sofia, the Ministry of Interior Academy, etc. Moderator of the event was Victoria Slavkova, Manager of the Regional Development Foundation.
