A lecture to the 3rd year students of speciality International Economic Relations was delivered by Mrs. Hristina Vladimirova, Director of the Foreign Economic Cooperation Directorate at the Ministry of Economy and Industry. The meeting with the students was a part of the class on the EU Common Trade Policy led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Monika Moraliyska. The lecture was also attended by Mrs. Yulia Filcheva from the Asia, Africa, America and Australia Division of the Directorate.

Mrs. Vladimirova presented the structure and functions of the Foreign Trade Directorate, its objectives and activities as well as the mechanism for its interaction with the other institutions. She also discussed the priorities of the Bulgarian foreign economic relations, including how trade agreements are prepared and signed and how the Directorate contributes to their achievement.

Of great interest to the students was the section on the Trade and Economic Affairs Offices /TEAO/ whose activities are managed by the Foreign Economic Cooperation Directorate. Mrs. Vladimirova also shared interesting facts about the work of 51 Bulgarian economic advisors in these offices which operate in 37 countries around the world. She also examined the requirements for candidates to occupy this position, outlining the necessity of foreign language skills.
