On 9 June the Association of Economic Schools in Bulgaria (AESB) held its 4<sup>th</sup> National Meeting in the Educational and Rehabilitation Facilities of UNWE in Ravda. In it took part Assoc. Prof. Dr. Milanka Slavova, Vice Rector for Education in the EQD of Bachelor and Lifelong Learning and Chairwoman of AESB, Prof. Dr. Daniela Feschiyan, Deputy Chairwoman of AESB, Lidia Velcheva, Director of Rector`s Office Directorate, directors and deputy directors of AESB member-schools <i>(in the picture below)</i>.

Assoc. Prof. Milanka Slavova opened the event and greeted the participants. She expressed her contentment with the AESB activity over the last reported period.

Prof. Dr. Daniela Feschiyan presented a report about the AESB activity over the academic year 2017 &ndash; 2018. She made a profound analysis of national competitions, contests and other activities held by the Association over the reported period in comparison with the previous two academic years. She emphasized on the increasing number of participants in the national competitions and contests and better results achieved by them.

In her report Assoc. Prof. Milanka Slavova analyzed the tendencies in the admission of students at the UNWE in the professional fields of Economics, Law, Administration and Management and made a parallel between the UNWE and other state and private universities.

In her report on the Development Tendencies in the Vocational Education in Bulgaria, Emilia Ivanova, Director of the National Trade and Banking School and member of the AESB Coordinating Council analyzed the current issues of the activity of AESB member-schools.

Engineer Lyubka Baylova, Director of Aleko Konstantinov Vocational High School of Economics and Tourism &ndash; Velingrad presented a report on the Successful School Community United by the Past, Present and Future and told about the established longstanding contacts and wide alumni activity of the school.

It was adopted the AESB statement addressed to the Ministry of Education and Science containing specific proposals related to the workload of teachers in academic practices, permission for distance learning, standardization of evaluation scales for the state mature and qualification examinations, alterations in the Uniform Cost Model, etc.
