Students from the UNWE Won Prizes in The National Competition for Young Auditor 2016

The student girl Anna Mavrodieva from the UNWE, speciality Auditing won the first place in the National Competition for Young Auditor – 2016. In an official ceremony on awarding the winners she got the right to implement an internship at the companies that are co-organizers of the event, cash prize of 2 000 BGN, a Plaque and Certificate of participation. The prizes were awarded to her by Diana Yordanova, Deputy Chairman of the Parliamentary Commission for Budget and Finance and by Milena Hristova, Manager of HLB Bulgaria.

The third place in the Competition won the student from the UNWE Savomir Botev, speciality Finance and Accountancy with English language teaching. He got the right to implement a month of internship and cash prize of 500 BGN. The third encouraging prize for the most original ideas was won by Maria Atanasova who is also a student girl from the UNWE, speciality Auditing.

The Competition for Young Auditor was organized for a fifth consecutive year by the University of Finance, Business and Entrepreneurship (VUZF) jointly with the specialized audit companies HLB Bulgaria and Zaharinova & Partners. In it took part 150 students from 18 universities in the country. The objective of the Competition was to popularize the audit profession among young people in Bulgaria as well as to emphasize on the role of audit for the economy of the country and its importance for the society.

In the present year in the jubilee Competition most of the participants were from the UNWE, VUZF, D. A. Tsenov Economic Academy of Svishtov and the Economic University of Varna. 119 participants were given access to the second stage of the Competition – a test and to the third stage for solving a case reached only those who had more than 60% of correct answers in the test.

The participants and guests were greeted by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Grigorii Vazov, Rector of VUZF as well as by the representatives of the Assessment Commission Prof. Dr. Ognyan Simeonov and Prof. D.Sc.(Econ.) Mihail Dinev. At the event attended also Prof. Dr. Snezhana Basheva, Dean of the Finance and Accountancy Faculty of UNWE.
