Opportunities of Academic Partnership between The UNWE and The Shanghai Jiao Tong University Were Discussed

The opportunities of academic partnership were discussed by the Rector of UNWE Prof. D.Sc. (Econ.) Statty Stattev and Sun Yang, Director of the International Cooperation Office of the Shanghai Jiao Tong University Education Group.

The Rector presented to the guest the UNWE activity and emphasized especially on the ten Bachelor`s degree programmes in the English language which providing excellent opportunities for education of Chinese students at our university. Prof. Stattev outlined also the large scientific potential of UNWE, Master`s degree programmes (more than 100), PhD programmes, modern materially-technical and sports facilities. He highlighted the leader positions of UNWE as well as the fact that it is the Bulgarian university having the largest number of students.

Sun Yang presented the Shanghai Jiao Tong University Education Group established in 1999 as an independent legal structure for continuing education at the Shanghai Jiao Tong University which has 119 years old history and which is one of the most authoritative Chinese higher schools. It has more than 16 thousand students and 29 Faculties. At the University work 2823 lecturers and 862 of them are professors, 23 - members of the Chinese Academy of Science, 24 - members of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. The Chinese University undergraduate programmes cover nine main disciplines: economics, law, science, literature, engineering, agriculture, medicine, management and arts.
