UNWE and the Technical University of Gabrovo Started Joint Bachelor’s Programme in Innovative Technologies and Management in Energy
The UNWE and the Technical University of Gabrovo /TU-Gabrovo/ unite their academic resources to educate professionals for the modernization and management of the energy sector, jointly providing to students the opportunity to study in the programme Innovative Technologies and Management in Energy and obtain Bachelor’s degree and the professional qualification of Energy Technologies and Management Engineer. The joint programme aims to prepare highly qualified specialists in the energy sector and it is aligned with the vision for its management and modernization in Bulgaria.
The Bachelor`s programme in Innovative Technologies and Management in Energy, full-time study, state-funded places, has a duration of four years /eight semesters/. After the state-funded places have been filled, there is also an option to study on a tuition-fee basis. The Programme uses shared educational resources, hybrid teaching, and digital technologies. The Programme is provided jointly by the two higher education institutions and the Technical University of Gabrovo is its Coordinator. The courses included in the curriculum are taught by lecturers from the UNWE and TU – Gabrovo. Teaching during the 1st,3rd,4th, and 8th semesters is provided by the TU-Gabrovo, while during the 2nd, 5th,6th, and 7th semesters – by the UNWE.
The Bachelor`s programme in Innovative Technologies and Management in Energy aims to prepare highly qualified specialists with a solid general engineering background and in-depth knowledge in the fields of thermal power engineering and nuclear energy, organization and management in the energy sector, systems and approaches for ensuring security, risk management and the use of AI in energy facilities, conversion technologies in power plans, nuclear technologies and renewable energy sources.
The specialized preparation of students is related to the energy-efficient use, transformation, transportation and consumption of energy in processes, facilities, technologies and systems across various areas of industry and the public sector.
The admission of students is carried out in accordance with the regulations currently in force about the admission to Bachelor’s degree programmes at the UNWE and TU-Gabrovo, applicable for the 2026/2027 academic year.
Applicants can submit their documents to TU – Gabrovo /online and in person/. The submissions deadline is the 15 October 2026.
