Our Representatives Participated in the ENGAGE.EU International Summer School in Barcelona

As part of the International Summer School in Architecture, Innovation, and Culture, organized by Universitat Ramon Llull/La Salle - Barcelona and funded by the ENGAGE.EU university alliance, the UNWE was represented by Chief Assist. Dr. Stoyan Neychev from the International Economic Relations and Business Department and by the students Yoana Slavcheva and Borislava Zdravkova from the International Economic Relations and Business Department; Hristiana Petkova, speciality Marketing and Strategic Planning /taught in English/; Diana Kirova, speciality Accounting, Finance and Financial Control /taught in English/ and Nikoleta Koleva, speciality Artificial Intelligence in the Economy. They took active part in the educational and project activities of the Summer School.

Dr. Stoyan Neychev delivered a lecture on the Climate Change and Its Impact on Tourism in Barcelona. During the lecture, he presented and analyzed the effects of climate change on Barcelona’s tourism potential, as well as on the development of European cities in general. The focus was on the contemporary adaptation approaches - mitigating the effects of heat waves, managing precipitation, protecting coastal areas, preventing floods and implementing sustainable solutions.

The Summer School was attended by students from various European Union member states including Spain, Italy, Germany, Austria, Bulgaria, and others. For the representatives of UNWE it was yet another opportunity to exchange knowledge and best practices with students and lecturers from leading European universities, to work on current topics related to the sustainable development and climate change and to establish new academic and professional partnerships within ENGAGE.EU.
