During the meeting Prof. Dimitar Dimitrov presented the University and outlined the main challenges facing the higher education today - the declining number of students and the necessity of transformation and adaptation to new realities. He emphasized that the UNWE actively develops its relations with the business community through various initiatives and business academies, as well as its partnerships with the secondary education: “We organize numerous competitions, contests and internship programmes. The business community more often comes to us and we provide various opportunities for students to show their talents. Over the years, the profile of our lecturers has also changed - in addition to being theorists, they are practitioners closely related to the business world. We have established a Startup Hub that encourages our students to think in large scale and the University is now largely digitized”, noted the Rector.

Yordan Mateev outlined that the University looks much more modern today compared to when he was a student himself: “The University feels like a livelier and different place. I remember the days when we used to stand in line for administrative services and today I see a tremendous progress". In his view, the UNWE and Forbes Bulgaria share a similar mission, as both institutions work to advance the society through knowledge and inspiration: “We don’t just convey information; we tell stories and make what you teach through theory in the classroom more accessible." He also commented on the changes the media has undergone in recent years, including the integration of Artificial Intelligence into the workflow: “Today we implement many projects with Artificial Intelligence. It is a challenge because, on one hand, we cannot fully trust it, and on the other - we must use it while trying to find a balance in these new technological solutions. All of this is interesting and exciting". In conclusion, Yordan Mateev said: “We want Bulgarians to be more knowledgeable and successful. For us, this memorandum is an important step toward implementing this mission. The entrepreneurship and success are key words for us - along with the knowledge and inspiration that form the foundation of our content".

The Coordinator for the implementation of the Memorandum on behalf of UNWE is Assoc. Prof. Dr. Alexander Hristov, Vice Dean for Quality and International Cooperation of the International Economics and Politics Faculty and on behalf of Forbes Bulgaria the Coordinator is Mirena Ivanova.
