Santa Claus Visited the UNWE with Smiles and Surprises
With lots of cheerful mood, smiles and Christmas magic Santa Claus visited the UNWE again and brought joy to the children of the University's lecturers and staff members. The Christmas event brought together nearly 80 children who eagerly and excitedly welcomed the Good Old Man filling the hall with laughter and childish enthusiasm.
The Rector Prof. Dr. Dimitar Dimitrov expressed his joy at seeing so many smiling and happy faces and outlined the festive atmosphere in which all the children were awaiting their Christmas gifts. He emphasized that the end of the year is a time for assessment and pointed out that the past year had been a good and successful one for the academic community of UNWE. He also added that "the University strives to create more and more such warm and unifying experiences for children and their parents, because it is through them that the true Christmas spirit is felt". The Rector greeted all the attendees on the upcoming holidays and wished them good health, family harmony and many happy moments in the following years.
The festive atmosphere in Maxima Aula was created by the ARFA Ladies Chamber Choir led by the choir conductor Aneta Ruseva and accompanied by the pianist Stanislava Georgieva. Their performances brought Christmas magic and warmth to the hall.
Rositsa Zhetova presented the history of ARFA Ladies Chamber Choir and shared the wished to the attendees in the hall: "May we have more strength to forgive and, with God's help, to move forward. And when the playful fire in the fireplace burns during the Christmas winter days, let us wish for the best things, because Christmas is magical and miracles really do happen".
The event was moderated by Anna-Maria Barbutska, fourth-year student at the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and a member of the Executive Council of the National Representation of the Student Councils.
Assistants of Santa Claus were the two Snow Maidens – Kamelia Zamyarkova from the Rector's Office and Anna-Maria Nikolaeva, Doctoral student at our university.
Irena Marinova, senior expert at the Foreign Students Division, and Ralitsa Dimitrova from the Inter-University Center for Career Development were Santa's elves.
Each child received a gift and an unforgettable memory — a photo with Santa Claus.
The festive atmosphere turned the day into a real celebration for the entire university community.
The celebration continued with a lively disco party organized by the Technical Training Resources Division.
The event brought lots of smiles and shared emotions reminding us that the spirit of Christmas lives on even in the academic environment.
