The Rector Met with the Ambassador of Argentina

The Rector of UNWE Prof. Dr. Dimitar Dimitrov and the H. E. Mr. Alejandro Zothner Mеyer, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Argentina to Bulgaria, discussed the opportunities for development of bilateral cooperation in the field of education and scientific research. The meeting was also attended by the Vice-Rector for International Affairs Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yanko Hristozov, the Minister Plenipotentiary Daniel Cotti, Deputy Head of the Embassy of Argentina, and Advisor Juan Ignacio Camio Bavasso, Head of the Commercial and Economic Department at the Embassy.

Prof. Dr. Dimitar Dimitrov presented a brief overview of the structure, strategic priorities and international initiatives of UNWE, emphasizing the leading position of the University as the largest and the most prestigious business university in Bulgaria and Southeast Europe. He highlighted the active role of UNWE in building academic and institutional partnerships around the world, as well as its efforts to internationalize education through joint programmes, research networks, and student mobility.

The subject of the conversation was the possibilities for establishing long-lasting relations between the UNWE and the leading Argentinian universities. The two sides discussed prospects for lecturers and student exchange, joint Master's degree programmes, the development of scientific projects, and the organization of international conferences and academic forums.

The discussion was focused on the potential for cooperation in the field of nuclear industry and nuclear security. The possibility of interaction between the Institute of Enhancing Research Capacity in the Field of Nuclear Industry and Nuclear Security at UNWE and similar research centers and institutes in Argentina was also discussed. Prof. Dimitrov also presented the Master's degree programme in Nuclear Security. He outlined that three students from Argentina currently study at the UNWE.

During the conversation new opportunities for cooperation in areas such as sustainable development, the economy of innovation, and entrepreneurship were also highlighted. The two sides agreed that the academic exchange and scientific partnerships are the key for deepening the relations between Bulgaria and Argentina and are important for building bridges between the two countries.

H. E. Mr. Alejandro Zottner Meyer expressed his confidence that the cooperation between the UNWE and the Argentinian universities will develop sustainably and will contribute to exchange experience and knowledge in areas of strategic importance for both countries.
