UNWE employees organized by Daniel Avramov, Acting Head of Working Conditions and Safety Sector /in the picture below on the right/, and partners of the University donated basic food supplies to St. Nicholas Orphanage at the Holy Trinity Church in the village of Novi Han. The Orphanage was founded by Father Ivan and provides shelter and support to dozens of children and adults in need. Today about 50 people live there, including families with children. After Father Ivan's death the Orphanage as well as some homes in the villages of Yakimovo and Konyavo, also founded by Father Ivan, are in desperate need of support. His work is continued by his son Grigory who is also a priest and has been actively helping to care for those in need in recent years.

For nearly 40 years Father Ivan /Archimandrite Ivan Ivanov/ has taken care for the homeless, orphans, victims of domestic violence, and people with addictions. He has renovated and has bought houses, which he provided to people so that they can live more dignified lives. According to data from the recent years nearly 200 people have been living in his homes.
