Second Competitive Games of the Association of Language Schools in Bulgaria

For the second consecutive year the Association of Language Schools in Bulgaria held its Competitive Games. Member-schools of the Association from Sofia, Kyustendil, Haskovo, and Pravets took part in the sports and entertainment programme. The initiative was sponsored by Devin company.

The event was opened by Assoc. Prof. Vasil Petkov, Chairman of the Association and Head of the UNWE International Economic Relations and Business Department, who welcomed the students and wished them a successful and exciting competition.

On behalf of the organizers Assoc. Prof. Ivan Stoilov, Head of the Physical Education and Sports Department, also greeted the participants, wishing them sporting enthusiasm and encouraging them to visit the University's Sports Complex Bonsist again one day as students at the UNWE.

The pupils showed great enthusiasm and sportsmanship. The final rankings are as follows:

• First place - 133. A. S. Pushkin Secondary General Education School – Sofia city   
• Second place – Aleko Konstantinov Specialized High School with Foreign Language Teaching – Pravets town
• Third place - First English Language High School - Sofia

The prizes for the winning teams were awarded by Prof. Dr. Matilda Alexandrova, Vice-Rector for Educational Activity at UNWE, who greeted the pupils for their successful results and encouraged them to keep their enthusiasm as well as to continue combining knowledge and sports achievements.

The competitive games gradually establish themselves as a tradition that encourages the cooperation between the schools and our university and builds values of teamwork, activeness and friendship.
