The Rector and The Honorary Rector of UNWE Were Guests at The Congress of The National Branch Syndicate of Higher Education and Science

The Rector Prof. D.Sc. (Econ.) Statty Stattev, Deputy Chairman of the Rectors Council and the Honorary Rector Prof. Dr. Borislav Borisov, Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Children, Youth and Sports were guests at the Fourth Congress of the National Branch Syndicate of Higher Education and Science at Confederation of Independent Syndicates in Bulgaria (NBS HES – CISB).

Prof. Stattev awarded the Commemorative medal of Prof. Stephan Bobchev – Founder and First Rector of UNWE to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Eng. Lilyana Valcheva, Chairwoman of the Syndicate, for her contribution to the social dialogue and partnership between the UNWE and NBS HES – CISB and the defend of rights of academic community.  

Prof. Stattev is awarding to Assoc. Prof. Valcheva the Commemorative medal.

Over the years the Syndicate has won the name of an authoritative organization and gained the respect and trust of the representatives of Bulgarian higher education and science through the protection of their rights and considerable activity for equality of the social dialogue, outlined in his greeting speech the Rector. He expressed his confidence that the constructive dialogue between the UNWE and the Syndicate would continue in the spirit of collegial understanding and in the name of the interest of academic community.

Assoc. Prof. Valcheva was awarded a special Diploma by Prof. Borislav Borisov for her fruitful work with the Rectors Council over the period 2008 – 2012 when Prof. Borisov had been its Chairman (in the picture below).

Assoc. Prof. Valcheva was unanimously elected as a Chairwoman of NBS HES – CISB by the delegates in the Congress.

In the Managing body of the Syndicate were elected two lecturers from the UNWE: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rosen Kirilov from the Information Technologies and Communications Department –as a Deputy Chairman and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Silivia Tfironova from the Finance Department – as a Chairwoman of the Control and Auditing Committee.
