Working Group from The National and Regional Security Department Visited Kozloduy Nuclear Power Plant
In relation to the new Master`s Degree Programme on Nuclear Security which will start in the beginning of the next year at our university, a working group from the National and Regional Security Department led by Prof. Dr. Dimitar Dimitrov visited Kozloduy Nuclear Power Plant (NPP).
Prof. Dimitrov presented to the NPP managing body the Master`s Degree Programme prepared by our university. It is worked out by the support of international and Bulgarian institutions such as the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Energy, Nuclear Regulatory Agency, Bulgarian Academy of Science (BAS), Institute of Metal Science at BAS, etc. The hosts showed a serious interest in the Programme. Both parties expressed their intention for future cooperation in the field of education in nuclear security as well as for signing an agreement between the UNWE and Kozloduy NPP.

The working group from the National and Regional Security Department learnt about the NPP structure and work of operators of both reactors. Using a simulator various scenarios of nuclear accidents were presented at the training center.
