A Simulative Warehouse Started Working Just for An Afternoon at The UNWE

On December, 12^th, at the UNWE was held a joint initiative of the Economic Logistics Department and the Bar Code Systems Bulgaria Ltd. The purpose of the event was to acquaint the future specialists in Logistics with the informative provision of a modern warehouse and to enable them to implement basic operations. The presentation was related to the practical training on the discipline Information Systems in the Logistics lecturing by Chief Assistant Dr. Nikolay Dragomirov.

A leading presenter was Mrs. Bistra Karapancheva who examined the essence of modern warehouse information systems and technologies related to them. During the presentation the students had the chance to participate in the simulative warehouse as managers or warehouse workers. During the meeting were also discussed a lot of other issues as the integration with the ERP systems, arrangement of warehouse processes, effect of the implementation of modern warehouse systems, etc. The best students were awarded a souvenir “Zebra” as a symbol of the bar code.
