The new intake of foreign students was welcomed at the UNWE by the Rector Prof. Dr. Dimitar Dimitrov and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yanko Hristozov, Vice-Rector for International Affairs.

Prof. Dimitar Dimitrov welcomed the students and pointed out that the UNWE has 105 years of history. He talked to the foreign students about some important moments from the history of the University – from its establishment to the present days. "Today the University has 8 Faculties and 36 Departments, educates nearly 20 000 students and it is among the leading economic universities in Bulgaria. Our graduates include 12 Prime Ministers and over 150 Ministers. Our university is highly internationalized – we provide joint Master's degree programmes with partners from China, the UK, Italy, and other countries, which provide the opportunity to obtain double diplomas. We have nearly 200 agreements under the Erasmus+ Programme and you are already part of this process. The UNWE is also a member of ENGAGE.EU, the European alliance of leading economic universities. It is a real pleasure for me to welcome you to our academic community because you are an important part of the internationalization and development of our university", added Prof. Dimitrov.

The Vice-Rector for International Affairs Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yanko Hristozov also addressed to the foreign students: "Coming here, you have stepped out of your comfort zone and chosen to dive into the adventure of getting to know a new culture. You are not only Erasmus+ students, but also ambassadors of your countries and at the same time you are now friends of Bulgaria". He pointed out that currently 61 students from 12 countries, including France, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Belgium, Romania, and others, study at the UNWE. "The Erasmus+ Programme changes lives and opens minds. Your study here will face you to challenges, but it will also give you unforgettable friendships and memories. It is an honour for us to welcome you and to start together this new and exciting chapter in your lives - your studies in the Erasmus+ Programme", added Assoc. Prof. Yanko Hristozov.
