Arab Media Published News about the Celebration of the 105th Anniversary of UNWE

One of the largest and most influential editions in Jordan – the newspaper Ad-Dustour – published news about the celebration of the 105th Anniversary of UNWE.

The publication about the UNWE says:

"The UNWE celebrated its 105 Anniversary with an official ceremony in which representatives of the academic community, state institutions, as well as diplomats took part.

In his welcoming speech Prof. Dr. Dimitar Dimitrov, Rector of the UNWE, emphasized on the importance of the academic institution as a place for educating students in the spirit of responsibility, integrity and high moral standards. He outlined that the University is one of the leading centers for modern and quality education in Europe, preparing students for a successful career and contribution to society.

During the ceremony, honorary awards and medals were awarded to prominent lecturers, researchers and personalities who have contributed to the development of higher education and science in Bulgaria. Among the awardees were also people supporting the mission of the UNWE and the development of education in the country.

The celebration had a cultural programme, which included music and dance performances demonstrating the rich cultural heritage of Bulgaria and emphasizing the role of the University as an institution, guardian of knowledge and traditions."

The influential Arab media Ashur News Agency also published news about the 105th anniversary of UNWE.

In the publication about the UNWE it is noted:

"The Bulgarian Patriarch and Metropolitan of Sofia Daniel served a prayer of gratitude and emphasized in his speech the spiritual depth of the educational mission. "The Bulgarian Orthodox Church sincerely rises with its prayers the success of the educational path. It is an active partner of any educational institution that adheres to noble values. God's economic order is based on the love of God and man – this is a fruitful principle in the economic relations between the nations."

As a sign of appreciation Prof. Dr. Dimitrov Dimitrov, Rector of the UNWE, awarded to the Bulgarian Patriarch and Metropolitan of Sofia Daniel an honorary medal for his spiritual support for the University. Honorary orders were also awarded to the Chairperson of Bulgarian Parliament Natalia Kiselova and to the Minister of Education Krasimir Valchev in recognition of their role in the development of higher education in Bulgaria.

Mrs. Natalia Kiselova outlined in her speech the important role of the University: "The UNWE provides modern and quality education. It prepares students for success and it is a major pillar for the future of Bulgaria. This academic institution is a light of knowledge and morality."
