The ECO-ACT Project Management Team Participated in a Working Meeting in Warsaw

The international meeting of the partners in the project ECO-ACT: East African-European Virtual Exchange for Environmental Protection and Climate Action was held this month at the Cardinal Stefan Wyszynski University in Warsaw. In the meeting took part Prof. Dr. Svetoslav Spasov, Project Manager, Assist. Dr. Milen Markov, Director of the International Affairs Directorate, and PhD student Georgy Tasev, expert at the Directorate.

The programme included thematic seminars and discussions dedicated to the sustainable development, climate education and the implementation of virtual exchanges between the higher education institutions from Europe and East Africa. In the seminars and discussions took also part representatives of the partner universities from East Africa:

  • Kibabii University, Bungoma, Kenya;
  • Lira University, Lira, Uganda;
  • University of Rwanda, Kigali, Rwanda;
  • University of Bahr El Ghazal, Wow, South Sudan.

During the meeting the partners jointly developed the structure of the upcoming virtual educational programmes, discussed the challenges and good practices in the field of environmental education and outlined the next steps in the implementation of the project.

The ECO-ACT project is implemented with the support of the European Commission under the Erasmus+ Programme and it is aimed at building capacity, raising awareness and stimulating the sustainable cooperation between the higher education institutions from Europe and East Africa.
