UNWE Signed a New Cooperation Agreement with Shanghai Jiao Tong University
A Chinese delegation led by Prof. YANG Zhenbin, Chairperson of the University Council, visited our university. The delegation included Prof. CHE Shengquan, School of Design, Assoc. Prof. XIE Changkun, School of Design and Assist. Prof. QIN Yifeng, School of Design.
The Chinese guests were welcomed by the Rector of UNWE Prof. Dimitar Dimitrov, and a new Cooperation Agreement with Shanghai Jiao Tong University was signed. The UNWE have been implementing the Dual Master’s Programme in International Business and Governance taught in English for a long time.
On behalf of UNWE the meeting was attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yanko Hristozov, Vice-Rector for International Affairs, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pascal Zhelev, Coordinator of the Dual Master's Program with the Chinese University, Dr. Milen Markov, Director of the International Affairs Directorate, Prof. Dr. Svetlana Alexandrova from the International Economic Relations and Business Department, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Antonina Habova from the International Relations Department and Dilyana Boyadzhieva, student in the Dual Master's Programme.
The Rector highlighted the successful long-standing partnership between the UNWE and Shanghai Jiao Tong University, despite the difficulties caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, noting that in times of globalization, our university strives to create more and more joint programmes with universities around the world, as it is also part of the ENGAGE.EU alliance of European universities. "Globalization opens up many new opportunities for cooperation in the field of education and scientific research as well as for the exchange of students and lecturers which contributes not only to their personal development but also to the development of universities", said Prof. Dimitar Dimitrov during the signing event.
Prof. YANG Zhenbin, Chairperson of the University Council, expressed his pride of signing the new Cooperation Agreement between Shanghai Jiao Tong University, which ranks among the top three Chinese universities, and such a prestigious university as the UNWE, recognized not only in Bulgaria but throughout Europe. He emphasized that many activities are carried out in the course of cooperation between the two universities, which contribute to the beneficial development of students. "The world turns into a global village so we also strive to cooperate with more and more universities in Europe and the United States", said Prof. YANG Zhenbin. "We encourage our students to visit other countries, learn about different cultures and exchange experiences, because it is important for their proper development in today's global world."
After the signing event, the Chinese delegation went on a tour around the university building and visited key locations such as the Wall of Fame, Maxima Aula, the conference halls, etc.
