Kostenets Municipality Gave As Present an Oak Forest and a Flash Mob to Our University on the Occasion of Its 105th Anniversary
At the initiative of Mayor Yordan Angelov and Margarita Mincheva, Deputy Mayor and UNWE graduate, Kostenets Municipality will plant 300 oak trees in the area of the village of Gorna Vasilitsa on the occasion of the 105th Anniversary of our university. The oak trees symbolize health and longevity. The Rector Prof. Dr. Dimitar Dimitrov and Yordan Angelov symbolically planted the first trees.

The official delegation in the Municipality of Kostenets included Assoc. Prof. Dr. Maria Vodenicharova, Vice Rector for Research, Atanas Dimitrov, Director of the Interuniversity Career Development Center at UNWE, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ivaylo Ivanov from the Industrial Business Department, Coordinator of the Memorandum between the two institutions, Kaloyan Stefanov, Chairman of the Student Council, and Plamena Panayotova, Secretary of the Student Council.
By touching flash mob, the students from St. Cyril and Methodius Primary School in Kostenets also honored the 105th Anniversary of the UNWE as part of the celebrations devoted to their patron's holiday. The students arranged themselves in the shape of the number 105 and blue balloons were released into the sky - a symbolic gesture both towards the university and towards the Day of Europe.

During his visit the Rector Prof. Dimitrov greeted the pupils and teachers of the School on the occasion of their patron's holiday: “By bearing the name of the holy brothers Cyril and Methodius, you preserve a great cultural and educational heritage. Your mission is both constructive and responsible — to preserve and pass on the most valuable things we possess: the language, knowledge and the strive for progress”.
Greeting to the UNWE on its Anniversary were also addressed by the Mayor Yordan Angelov and the School Director Teodora Tsvetanova. They expressed their gratitude to the University as a center of knowledge and inspiration for generations of young people.
