Delegation from the UNWE Visited the Largest Universities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
The Rector of UNWE Prof. Dimitar Dimitrov and the Vice Rector for International Affairs Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yanko Hristozov visited the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia at the invitation of the two largest universities in Riyadh. The visit was made with the assistance of H. E. Lyubomir Popov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Bulgaria to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and part of his team in the person of Petar Moysov, First Secretary and Head of the Office of Trade and Economic Affairs at the Embassy, and Varban Benishev, Head of the Consular Office.
The Rector of UNWE was welcomed at the largest university for women in the world - Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University by the President Prof. Einas Aleisa and her team. Our delegation toured the university's impressive facilities - research laboratories with the most modern equipment, a robotic library that allows for the storage and logistics of 5 million volumes, robotic technology hubs with latest generation 3D printers that enable the creation of innovative businesses and startups by students.
During the official meeting between the Rectors Managing Bodies the attraction of students and participation in joint projects was discussed and for the purpose a memorandum of cooperation is to be signed. There are 35 000 female students studying at the Arabian university.

The delegation from the UNWE visited the largest Saudi Arabian university - King Saud University which has over 60 000 students. The conversations between Prof. Dimitar Dimitrov and the President of the University Prof. Abdullah Alsalman were related to the research activities, project development and joint educational initiatives. Of particular interest to the scientists of King Saud University were the topics related to the climate change, energy sources and sustainability. A summer university will be provided for students of both Saudi Arabian universities.
The delegation also held meetings with the Rector of Dar Almarifah University, the Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration at Imam Muhammad bin Saud University and the Dean of the Faculty of Law and Business at Alaymamah University. Information was shared on the own grants available to Saudi Arabian universities to fund research projects. A representative from the Ministry of Education of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia also attended the meeting. Actions will be initiated on the recognition of the Bulgarian diplomas of UNWE in Saudi Arabia. The expectations of both sides for cooperation are the driving force for our future partnership.
