International Conference on The Real Estate Property Management

International Conference on the Real Estate Property Management was held at the university. The Forum was organized by the Real Estate Property Department and in it took part representatives of academic circles and practice. In the Large Conference Hall gathered scientists from the UNWE, Economic University of Varna, Dimitar Tsenov Economic Academy – Svishtov, Trakia University – Stara Zagora, International Business School – Botevgrad as well as leading specialists from the National Real Estate Association (NREA), Bulgarian Facility Management Association, FIABCI – Bulgaria, Yavlena Real Estate Agency, IBrokers Agency and other representatives from the branch.

On behalf of the Rector of UNWE Prof. D.Sc.(Econ.) Statty Stattev the participants in the forum were greeted by Prof. Dr. Valentin Goev, Vice Rector in Scientific Research Activity. He outlined the specifics of the Conference and emphasized on the importance of close interaction between the science and the practice. Only in such collaboration there won`t be any mutual accusations and will be sought after a common way including in the academic programmes, pointed out Prof. Goev. The Vice Rector wished the Real Estate Property Department success as well as to keep going in this way also in the future, to be a pioneer in the implementation of the close cooperation with the practice.

The Head of the Department Prof. Dr. Yordanka Yovkova outlined that work in the present conditions requires approaches and innovations including in the conduction of scientific forums. She tried to find out a working formula in the unity of innovations and traditions based on the good experience. Researches in all aspects of the sector are needed, specified Prof. Yovkova and expressed her confidence that the Conference would become a tradition.

Ivan Velkov from the National Real Estate Association pointed out that it is extremely important in the present situation of the market the issues to be analyzed basing on the science.   

The UNWE prepares the future professionals in the branch and the speciality is very necessary for the needs of the market, said explicitly Engineer Irena Perfanova, Chairwoman of the NREA Managing Board and FIABCI – Bulgaria. Perfanova is also Master of Science in Economy graduating the speciality Real Estate Business at the UNWE.

The UNWE was defined as a constant and reliable partner also by Goran Milanov, Chairman of the Bulgarian Facility Management Association. Together we must be more qualitative and more creative, outlined Milanov.

The Conference reports and discussions were focused in the following thematic fields: Realtor Activity, Property/Facility Management, Urbanization and Urban Environment, City Economics, Residential Policy, etc.

There will be published also a collection containing reports by participants in the Conference as well as by participants who have been sent their statements in an electronic format selected by the Editorial Board of the Forum.
