How to Establish an Enterprise Based on a Scientific Product?

An intensive training course on Establishing an Enterprise Based on a Scientific Product organized within the project Hub for Scientific Entrepreneurship in Bulgaria, was held by the UNWE Institute of Entrepreneurship.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kostadin Kolarov, Director of the Institute of Entrepreneurship and Head of the Entrepreneurship Department, opened the Forum by explaining that the initiative is aimed at researchers from different fields and emphasized on the fact that the UNWE is one of the first universities not only in Bulgaria, but also in Europe, which began to systematically study entrepreneurship as a separate discipline since 1991.

The moderator of the event was Prof. D.Sc. Dmytro Zherlitzin, researcher at the Institute of Entrepreneurship and Head of the project Hub for Scientific Entrepreneurship in Bulgaria. He introduced the participants, who included representatives from various institutes of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, other higher education institutions as well as people from the business practice.

In the presentation Scientific Entrepreneurship - Principles and Approaches by Assoc. Prof. Kolarov it was concerned the issue that there should be a binding in the remuneration of all participants in the process of creating the scientific product, its promotion and transfer.

The course developed into an lively discussion on the relation between the science and the practice, whether there is a good relation or not and who is responsible for it. All participants took active part in it examining the topics of what is an entrepreneur and how to become an entrepreneur, what you need to know to start a business, which are the stages from the business idea to the real start of a business.
