Our student is among the four Bulgarians selected for the International Parliamentary Scholarship of the German Bundestag for 2025. Nikolay Boshnakov, speciality Law at the Law Faculty, will work for three months in the office of a member of the Bundestag, will undergo a theoretical course that will better acquaint him with the political system of the Federal Republic of Germany, will be able to attend lectures at Berlin universities. The programme is under the patronage of the President of the German Bundestag and it is held in cooperation with three Berlin universities - the Free University, Humboldt University and the Technical University. 125 Bulgarian young people have won the International Parliamentary Scholarship since 1995.
Nikolay Boshnakov told about his expectations from his stay in Berlin in an interview for Az-Buki Newspaper: "The work of the administrative authorities is important and useful but it must be done effectively. The more quality staff we have in Bulgaria, the more sustainable our country will develop in the coming years as a full member of the European Union. The political fate of Bulgaria and Europe is decided in the near future and much will depend on our generation. During my internship I want to understand as much as I can about the law-making in Germany and the effective functioning of the bicameral system. My wish is to obtain the necessary professional experience to apply it in the Bulgarian legal sphere".
Simona Nikolova is one of the four students who also won the German scholarship. She studies for a Master's degree in Political Sociology at St. Climent Ohridsky University of Sofia.
