New International Recognition for the Accounting and Analysis Department and the UNWE

The UNWE Accounting and Analysis Department has been awarded by the ICAEW - the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales, an official document certifying the accreditation of the speciality Accounting and continuing the Department's status as an ICAEW Partner in Learning for 2025.

Prof. Dr. Daniela Feschian, Head of the Accounting and Analysis Department, expressed her contentment with the ongoing partnership with the ICAEW, which the leadeship of the Department deepens in order to strengthen the international reputation of the UNWE. She added that taking office in 2024 the new leadership of the Accounting and Analysis Department has begun the procedure of recognizing a new module in ICAEW on sustainability accounting and professional ethics which appears for the first time in the ICAEW curriculum. Prof. Dr. Daniela Feschiyan underlined her confidence that with the preliminary launch of this procedure the Accounting and Analysis Department and the UNWE will be among the first to be accredited.

The UNWE Accounting and Analysis Department is the eldest and the most prestigious Accounting Department in Bulgaria. It is the successor and continuator of the achievements of a pleiad of well-known scholars in the field of accounting since its establishment in 1920 to the present. Over the different historical periods part of the Department staff has been eminent scholars recognized not only in our country but also abroad. Since 1995 by the Decision of the Academic Council the Department has become part of the UNWE Finance and Accounting Faculty.

In the current year the Accounting and Analysis Department celebrates 105 years since its establishment and will mark its Anniversary with an International Scientific Conference which will be held in the period 25-27 March 2025.
